Challenged Athletes of West Virginia
Timberline Mountain is proud to partner with Challenged Athletes of West Virginia (CAWV) to offer ski lessons for children and adults with disabilities and special needs! CAWV has been providing adaptive sports opportunities to children and adults with physical and cognitive disabilities since 1996.
CAWV serves individuals with a wide array of disabilities including (but not limited to) vision and hearing impairments, amputees, spina bifida, cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophies, birth defects, paralysis and cognitive disabilities. Your experience will be individually designed for your own personal experience.
Cost: $75
All adaptive lessons include 2.5 hours of private instruction, adaptive equipment rental, and a lift ticket for the duration of your lesson.
All lessons should be paid for in full prior to the lesson start time.
Restrictions:
For safety reasons, all adaptive participants must meet the following guidelines to participate in the Adaptive Program:
- Sit Ski Program Weight Limit: 200 lbs
- Minimum Age: 4 Years Old
- Physical Requirements: Must be able to hold head upright through rough terrain and breathe without using special equipment
It is strongly recommended that participants talk to their doctor to see if this is an appropriate program for their health.

Pre-registration is required at least 48 hours in advance.

Timberline Mountain and CAWV reserve the right to cancel lessons due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g. inclement weather, instructor availability, etc.).
